Vestibular Rehabilitation
I respond to all emails, telephone calls, and texts within a few hours, and can usually see you within 1 week of first contact.
The first appointment is the most important and usually 1 hour. I will do a thorough assessment of your balance, check your vestibular system, and do a neurological examination, as well as look at your mobility. After the examination I will be able to formulate a treatment plan, and you will start treatment right away. Follow up appointments will be 30 minutes. On average I see patients between 2 and 3 times. I remain in contact with my patients via email, telephone or text even after discharge.
Dizziness is common, and can be caused by many different conditions/reasons. Most dizziness isn't serious, but you should see your Dr or specialist Physiotherapist, to rule out serious causes.
Dizziness is a difficult thing to describe, but you can feel vertigo (room spinning), feel faint, feel lightheaded, or imbalanced. You may feel different dizziness in different types of environments.
Dizziness can be very treatable, and can be helped in the short term with medication, and in the long term can be helped or cured by vestibular rehabilitation or manoeuvres.
Vestibular rehabilitation is a treatment for dizziness/imbalance and involves a series of head/eye movement exercises, and balance activities etc. All my patients are individually assessed and a customised programme is designed for their specific needs, in order to gain maximum function.
I can usually see you within 2-3 days of contact, and will be able to see you in your own home or can see you in a clinic setting.
